Following the promise of our healthcare mission, Laurus is proud to announce a new partnership with ThinIdentity. ThinIdentity is a virtual desktop infrastructure solution that improves workflow for caregivers, many of which are logging on to different computers over 80 times a day.

The Issue

Over the past ten years, a number of PC based applications have been made, however, doctors and nurses have been unable to reap the benefits of these technologies considering the time it takes to access these applications at every new location. The ThinIdentity solution backed by Laurus Technologies reduces clinical errors, brings near-instant logons to bedside, and improves overall patient care.

The Solution

As Federal regulators have developed incentives for use of EHRs (electronic health records), the transition within hospitals over the next few years is bound to be difficult. ThinIdentity, however, offers a seamless environment for doctors and nurses to access EHR through HIT applications.

These benefits revolutionze IT manages by centralizing, standardizing, and simplifying critical components of IT delivery. With a virtual desktop architecture, ThinIdentity replaces the current PC with full desktop functionality over a thin client terminal called Sun Rays. As a caregiver moves from terminal to terminal, ThinIdentity’s Virtual Location Awareness technology dynamically updates access to content and location-specific functionalities such as printing.

Not only does this system dramatically reduce the IT expense generally allocated to troubleshooting, it gives significant financial benefit to the long-term capital costs of any hospital.  However, the greatest financial benefit of ThinIdentity is realized through the increased productivity of the caregiver staff.
