User Defense Managed Services

Laurus user defense managed services are designed to provide you with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your systems are protected from objectional content and instrusion from outside invaders, while making it easy for your own employees and stakeholders to access what they need to achieve business goals.

Web Content Filtering

Web Content Filtering enables you to set and enforce acceptable use policies governing the materials accessed on your systems. With the Web Content Filtering managed service, it is possible to block objectionable content (for liability and productivity losses) while preserving the access to valuable Internet resources. This is a user-based service in which up to 65 web site categories can be designated to be blocked based on the filtering requirements of a business.

Remote Access VPN

With Remote VPN Access, whether traveling across the country, working on the other side of the world, or simply telecommuting from home, remote users can access a network connection that establishes a secure IPSec tunnel across the Internet to take them to work on the network. This service brings together best-of-breed solutions integrated into a managed comprehensive and secure mobile connectivity solution for the extended enterprise.

Secure Identity Tokens

Secure identity Tokens bring you an added level of user authentication for VPN clients, giving you a third form of authentication (in addition to the user name and password). Each user is assigned a token identity, which generates a new, unpredictable code every 30 seconds. The user enters this random number to log into protected resources. The result is a simple-to-use, 3-factor authentication process to gain access to an organization’s internal network and ensure that only authorized users are allowed entry to your network.

User Access Auditing

Regulatory compliance whether Sarbanes-Oxley, California SB1386, GLBA, PCI or other requirements requires that your institution protect sensitive information at all times and guard against unauthorized access to that data. The key to complying with these regulations is to be able to monitor and enforce security policies at all times; especially with regards to critical system access.  Unfortunately, many organizations do not adequately monitor the security events associated with Microsoft® Active Directory login and logout activity. Unauthorized users could be attempting to access critical applications and resources on the company’s network without any warning or timely alerts that could lead to preventative action or remediation.

The User Access Auditing (UAA) for Microsoft® Active Directory (AD) service captures the appropriate information from the system event log of each AD server in an organization and structures and analyzes the data so that technical administrators can be effectively alerted and can provide useful reports to auditors and management. The UAA service provides an additional level of monitoring, offering alerting and detailed reporting of Valid User Login Failures, Invalid User Login Failures, Login Attempts Made During Off Hours and Account Lockouts.  All reports and system snapshots are easily accessed using a single, customized online portal.

E-Security Training

IT Security Awareness Training supports an organization’s IT Security Policies and Procedures. The web-based, e-learning courses are designed to help businesses meet state, federal or standards body compliance requirements.

This service will help organizations prepare their staffs for the growing challenges of protecting customer and network privacy while reducing the threat of identity theft. The program manages the effectiveness of your employees' course performance and generates reports available for printing by management at any time.

The following Security Awareness Training Course Topics are available:

  • Passwords: how to create a strong password and the techniques hackers use to crack them
  • Data Classification: details on the different types of data and permissions associated with editing and deleting
  • Viruses & Hoaxes: malware concepts and protective controls each employee can take
  • Social Engineering: gathering of private information through conversations, and how to avoid crossing the line from helpful to harmful

Web-based learning for E-Security provides the following benefits:

  • Cost Effectiveness: Information dissemination through computers and the Internet is extremely cost efficient.
  • Just-In-Time: Employees can learn on an as-needed basis. Employees can also access course information at any time.
  • Ease of Use: Taking this course requires simple log-on and click through. No special navigation is required.
  • Content Updated Rapidly: Security Policies and Procedures can be updated and delivered in real-time. This increases the rate at which knowledge is disseminated.
  • Learner Controlled: Technology has given the individual greater authority over the learning environment and can be used at ones own desk or at home.
  • Uniformity of Content: The information delivered can be consistent to all users, therefore reducing the possibility of misinterpretation.
