Client Executive - Education (WI)

The Client Executive (CE) is accountable for the acquisition and retention of profitable clients through selling the breadth of Laurus solutions.

The CE is primarily responsible for identifying, managing and closing sales opportunities in accounts for all Laurus lines of business within higher education and K-12 markets. The CE will perform networking, branding, presentation and authoring activities that demonstrate thought leadership in applying technology to address business, financial and operational challenges the targeted industries. Once identified, the CE will manage lead conversion for the opportunity resulting in qualifying and closing the sale.

The CE will also participate in strategic planning, account planning, market research, and partner development for the industries across all Laurus lines of business.

The primary geographic coverage for this position is Wisconsin, with occasional interests in Minnesota.

  • Ability to distill concrete and abstract marketing research into corporate opportunities.
  • Ability to qualify and close sales opportunities

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience selling solutions IT or consulting solutions to institutions of higher education and K-12 schools and districts.
  • Existing business network of executives within the target industry holding IT management positions.
  • Experience working with and understanding of business issues facing education executives including technological, administrative, financial, and operational.
  • Experience working with and understanding Information Technology issues facing CIOs and lower levels within IT management
  • Experience in business development and creation of optimal customer solutions.
  • Experience working with and representing technology solutions from hardware and software vendors.
  • Experience accurately forecasting sales activity, preference given to experience with salesforce.com.
  • Involvement with industry and executive professional associations.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven experience finding sales opportunities and getting meetings with new prospects
  • Experience working in the industry an administrative, financial, production or IT management role.
  • Knowledge of the industry business processes and issues
  • Experience with industry software applications
  • Experience with pertinent enabling technologies including business intelligence, data warehouses, data interfaces, and information security
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies including servers, storage, virtualization, backup and recovery and networks.
  • Preference given to experience selling Sun, HP, HDS, EMC, Symantec and similar technology solutions
