Laurus Technologies Inc. Position Description
Position Title: Resource Manager
Laurus Technologies Inc. is seeking a Resource Manager to provide management oversight on the daily operation of its System Integration (SI) Post Sales practice and support Laurus in its strategic vision for growth and profitability. The Resource Manager’s primary goal is to enable the success of our business by maintaining optimal resource utilization across the SI Post Sales practice. Key activities include, but not limited to, the management, staffing, reporting of project delivery, and working with the Director of SI on maximizing professional services business.
Main Responsibilites:
- Understand the Laurus portfolio of SI technology solutions (systems, professional services, and software) being delivered on a project, and be able to appropriately staff SI projects with post sales consultants or 1099 resources
- Develop and prepare accurate reporting towards billable and effective utilization for executive leadership of Laurus Technologies, Inc.
- Proactively create operational processes that enable the practice to follow standards and improve scalability
- Provide level of effort and preliminary scope during the presales phase of the sales cycle
- Understand and maintain all vendor certification programs for consultants, ensuring full compliance of vendor partnering agreements
- Enhance/establish relationships with vendor delivery organizations with the goal of increasing awareness of Laurus SI delivery capabilities and growing professional services revenue
- Maintain repository of up-to-date biographies and skill set matrices for each consultant within the SI post sales practice
- Plan and track training and development for each SI consultant
- Communicate and report project status to SI Director and Laurus SI Partner including budget, risks, issues, etc
- Serve as escalation point for delivery consultants onsite, Laurus sales teams, and customers on project delivery issues while also being able to manager the daily activities of the practices
- Develop templates for project documentation (system docs, project plans, design workbooks)
Desired Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of systems, storage, software experience in complex environments
- 5-7 years working within Professional Services or Consulting for a hardware vendor, or Systems Integrator with progressive management responsibility.
- Experience in developing work plans, project scopes, estimating project work and cost
- Must have experience managing a team of highly technical consultants of diverse skill set
- Project management methodology background, including schedule, scope, issue and risk management experience, change management, strategic planning and analysis.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively work with various management levels internally and externally
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment; to be flexible and learn quickly.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Visio (process flow charting
- Experience with Sun Solaris platforms, StorageTek, HDS storage, EMC, Symantec, Cisco, Brocade, data de-duplication, and data archiving solutions
- Ability to develop rapport across various business units, and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally to customers and vendor partners.
Education:
- BA/BS degree or will also consider significant industry experience
