Position Title: Pre-sales Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
Assist in the design & configuration of IT infrastructure systems in close cooperation with our experienced solution architects and sales personnel. Work in a quality-driven, professional manner to create compelling proposals and deliverables that positively impact our sales objectives. The Presales Systems Engineer also compiles and analyzes Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) data to determine the economic feasibility of a proposed solution.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure hardware & software solutions based on designs built by our Solutions Architects.
- Technical assistance to our Sales Operations team for quote generation.
- Investigate alternative product options and substitutes to address availability issues.
- Attend vendor training on products and roadmaps.
Education:
- Desired: BA/BS College Degree in engineering, computer science or technology related field.
- Required: High school graduation or GED
Experience:
- Required: IT infrastructure technical experience
- Direct system engineering or support experience involving the design/configuration of hardware, software and services solutions.
- Direct involvement in working with internal and external teams to sell technical configurations of hardware, software and services.
- Desired: Sun Microsystems, Hitachi Data Systems or Symantec experience.
